Marcin Byczyński speaking at the Global Summit on Diamond Open Access – Marcin Byczyński (Centre for Public Policy Studies Scientific Secretary) was invited as a speaker in one of the main panels at the Global Summit on Diamond Open Access. The Summit took place at Toluca, Mexico between 23 and 27th October 2023. It was organized by: Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México (UAEMex), Redalyc, AmeliCA, UNESCO, CLASCO, anr, cOAlition S, Operas, Science Europe, Universidade Oscar Ribas.
During the panel discussion, the development of Polish scientific journals (1999-2022) based on quantitative data was presented. The significant positive influence of Polish journal grants (Wsparcie dla Czasopism Naukowych, Rozwój Czasopism Naukowych) was shown – OpenAcces journals outperforming ClosedAccess journals.
Additionally Marcin Byczyński presented a poster promoting one of Adam Mickiewicz University’s (AMU) journals and explained the dissemination strategy using Social Media that was implemented.
A joint AMU-Redalyc(UAEMex) effort will be undertaken to enable future cooperation in adjusting the infrastructure and propagating the XML JATS publishing format among OpenAccess journals in Poland.
To enable future cooperation, actions will be taken to establish the Erasmus mobility program between AMU and UAEMex.
